"Re-Kindling Our Campfire"
March 22-25,2012

Mark your calendars and plan to join fellow NYSOGA guides, their families, prospective guides, and guests at the White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton, NY from March 22 to the 25, 2012 for Winter Rendezvous XXXI.

Outdoor Guides of New York
NYSOGA charter members from 1982 who are still active today.

This year our 2012 Winter Rendezvous theme is Re-Kindling Our Campfire. This theme comes about because we all have Re-Kindled Our Campfire over the years in many places. Our campfires have been kindled alone, with family, friends, clients, or fellow guides. No matter where, when, or why we have kindled our campfire we do so for many reasons. We may use it to renew or make new friendships, cook a Dutch Oven full of blueberry cobbler, warm us on a cool Fall night, as the backdrop for us to tell a few tall tales about the trip just completed, or just to simply sit and watch the flames. Our reasons for a campfire are many and varied. We all agree that the warmth and comfort our fire gives us cannot be measured.

It is in the spirit of warmth, comfort, friendship, and camaraderie that we gather at the White Eagle Conference Center for Winter Rendezvous XXXI to once again Re-Kindle Our NYSOGA Campfire. The Winter Rendezvous Committee asks each and every one of you, at one time or another during Rendezvous, to stop in the Tepee Building. If the fire is blazing in the fireplace please add a piece of firewood on the NYSOGA Campfire. In this manner each and every one of us will have a part in Re-Kindling Our NYSOGA Campfire at Rendezvous.

White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton is a great place for us to meet being centrally located in New York State. Check out their website at www.whiteagle.com. This location allows us to walk to all venues once our car is parked. Meals, lodging, location, and staff are outstanding.

The Rendezvous Committee is currently working to put together a special weekend we hope you will enjoy. Review the enclosed Rendezvous schedule of events to see the activities planned. The usual meals, training, meetings, and seminars are scheduled. Also there is time for us to be with special friends we see only once a year at Rendezvous or meet new friends attending for the first time. Many interesting places to visit are in the surrounding Hamilton area. If you are a collector of antiques, a short drive will take you to the Madison-Bouckville Antique Shops for a visit. The quaint Village of Hamilton also has many shops with a variety of treasures just waiting for you to take home. Colgate University has both men's and women's lacrosse games scheduled at home on Saturday afternoon.

As your 2012 Winter Rendezvous Committee, we look forward to you joining us to "Re-Kindle Our Campfire" at the White Eagle Conference Center
